It's All About Timing

I went back up to Narrows Botanical Gardens yesterday to look at the honeysuckle again. I wanted information about the leaf structure that was not clear in the photos I had taken earlier.

In the brief time since the honeysuckle had grabbed my attention, the flowers had faded and it was on its way out. Wow, I never would have noticed them now. It is all about timing.

Really enjoying playing with these colors and the exuberant nature of this image or rather this plant. I do like that word, for me it does express audibly what it means.

Welcome and Here's the Story

A few days before Thanksgiving I received an email informing me that the New York State Council on the Arts was going to fund my proposal to create a series of drawings visualizing the connection of all life through the lens of geometry. I was thrilled. I am profoundly grateful for the funding and the recognition of my work. Life's in the Balance, the project title is a continuation of a creative investigation I started many decades ago and have brought forward through the years. Artist's Talk September 9 from 2 - 3 at Narrows Botanical Gardens

In my beloved Chinese redwood grove at Narrows Botanical Gardens   Please join me on Saturday, September 9th  from 2 - 3pm at Narrows Botanical Gardens in Brooklyn  for my Artist's Talk for the exhibit Life Is In the Balance Learn about my process in making the drawings, the 40 year history of my making work that has a very similar structure in sacred geometry and radial symmetry and how my four years as a volunteer at NBG informed this project.  Find out where each drawing's subject matter is located in the garden.
